Stone Mountain Park Recreates Georgia History at Frontier Days April 29 to May 2
Atlantans can step back in time as Stone Mountain Park is transformed into living history at Georgia Frontier Days April 29 to May 2. The event includes an array of interactive and hands-on activities portraying life on the Georgia frontier from the 1500s to 1800s.
What: Georgia Frontier Days
Who: Guests will journey through hundreds of years of Georgia history with live and interactive demonstrations that portray life on the frontier spanning several eras of state lore. Meet Hernando de Soto’s Spanish explorers of the 1500s, chat with Gov. James Oglethorpe (colonial father of Georgia) and witness a cavalry unit with live horses. Learn about Civil War weaponry, battlefield medicine, cooking, attire, music and frontier survival skills.
When: April 29 to April 30; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
May 1 to May 2; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Stone Mountain Park; Antebellum Plantation & Farmyard
Tickets: Admission included in Adventure Pass; $27 plus tax adults; $21 plus tax ages 3-11
Admission to Festival area only is $10 plus tax ages 3 and older
Vehicle entry to the park is $10 for a one-day permit or $35 for annual permit
